More books I haven't read. Of course, anything anybody says is their favorite immediately gets on my reading list. The History of Love is already on my very long "to-read" list.

I loved John Fowles' The French Lietenant's Woman. It's one of my top contemporary British novels.

My book group just finished reading "Leviathan" by Paul Auster. I loved the first 75% of the novel and still liked the last 25%. Did anyone else notice the drastic shift in writing style and tone in the last 50 or so pages? Still I loved all the characters, Fanny being my favorite.

What did you think of Leviathan compared to Auster's other works?

My favorite books of all time are John Fowles' "The Magus" and Donna Tartt's "The Secret History". More recently, I'd have to say "The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss.
